The WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) has set guidelines determining how web sites can be made accessibile. They say “specifically, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web”.

It should also be noted that just as a physical location must provide access to those with disabilities, legislation is also applied to websites meaning companies must ensure their sites are accessible.
